A community kickabout was held on the Swan Mead Estate last week to mark the completion of improvements to the estate's sports pitch.

Work was completed last year on the 56,000 upgrade of the pitch which was funded by Bermondsey Community Council's Cleaner Greener Safer scheme.

It is hoped that the newly improved pitch will now become a regular Southwark Community Games venue.

A bouncy castle and other entertainment was provided at the celebratory event on Saturday 9 May.

11-year-old Amy Gorman won the 'best player award' of a signed Millwall FC football.
