Southwark blue plaques 2005: vote now

Five SE1 icons are in the running to be honoured in this year's round of Southwark Council blue plaques.


Shell pledges 1 million to revamp Festival Hall

The Royal Festival Hall's neighbour on the South Bank, petrol giant Shell, has pledged 1 million towards the renovation of the concert hall.


Six deny David Morley murder

Five male youths and a teenage girl pleaded not guilty to the murder David Morley on the South Bank last October when they appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday morning.


Pool of London prepares to welcome the London Marathon

Final preparations for Sunday's London Marathon are underway at the event's Southwark Street headquarters. We meet some of the SE1 residents running the 26-mile course this year.
