Dr Rowan Williams was at Southwark Cathedral on Friday for what is expected to be his final visit before he steps down as Archbishop of Canterbury.
The Archbishop presided at the consecration of Revd Nick McKinnel who is to be the new Bishop of Crediton in the Diocese of Exeter.
Dr Williams will step down at the end of the December. In the New Year he will take up a new role as master of Magdalene College Cambridge.
Dr Williams has this week hosted a series of farewell events at Lambeth Palace. Guests have included the Mayor of Lambeth and the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Southwark.
